A judge sentenced Kathleen Boland to 10 years in prison and five years of probation.Boland’s blood-alcohol content was three times the legal driving limit when her vehicle hit Mike Fleming during the Harley-Davidson 105th anniversary celebration last year.Investigators said Boland caused the accident when she ran a red light. Boland apologized to the victim’s family during the hearing.”Not a day goes by that I don’t think about the pain I’ve caused. I pray to God to forgive me and ask that Mr. Fleming’s friends and families forgive me also, although I know they will never forget,” Boland said. She told the court she has gotten rid of her car and has not driven since the crash.Several family members and friends of the victim traveled from Michigan to attend Monday’s sentencing.

Was this Harley rider wearing full-leather competition body armor with hard chest and back protectors? Of course not, that’s probable cause for arrest. Was he taught countersteering on the rider “license ” test, since 90% of dead riders never learned it? Of course not, since MSF bans that word on govt license tests.

Be careful what you ask for, you just might get it.

    The Prohibition Times
America’s secret history of the current Prohibition of alcohol

“Strictly speaking, a driver can register a BAC of 0.00% and still be convicted of a DUI. The level of BAC does not clear a driver when it is below the ‘presumed level of intoxication.'”
—Tennessee Driver Handbook and Driver License Study Guide

“There’s a report out tonight that 24-years ago I was apprehended in Kennebunkport, Maine, for a DUI. That’s an accurate story. I’m not proud of that. I oftentimes said that years ago I made some mistakes. I occasionally drank too much and I did on that night. I was pulled over. I admitted to the policeman that I had been drinking. I paid a fine. And I regret that it happened. But it did. I’ve learned my lesson.”

Riding correctly in traffic does not require competition armor nor are equally deadly implements allowed to armor a motorcycle. What’s your point. If you have been following this blog for any length of time or given it more than a cursory rea, you certainly realize that I strongly believe that as a motorcyclist the government should leave me the fuck alone.

Government support of Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month is evident by the actions taken by the various governing bodies.

Millions of dollars are stolen through various forms of special taxation to this end of “Awareness”. Most cases, the monies are accumulated and then diverted to balance budgets elsewhere.

The monies that are spent on awareness are misspent upon programs that are devised by inept bureaucrats that do not ride on signs and banners and other forms of media that are aimed at motorcyclists to further the notion that it is okay to ride if you are willing to take a chance in a world where you can and will be hurt, maimed or killed by a larger force.

I, for one, do not need the government taxing me or shaking me down because I ride a motorcycle while being told that it is for my own good or the good of society.

I do not need to be told that I must pay fees or taxes for riding a motorcycle. I do not need to be taxed nor forced into educational programs that allow me to pay additional taxes or fees to the government.

I do not need to be told that I must have mandatory insurance that will not cover me or pay benefits if I choose to ride a motorcycle.

I would expect, as a motorcyclist, to give the government nothing for the lack of protections offered and expect that no law enforcement agency consider me a “person of interest” because of my mode of transportation.

    I agree:

ZERO taxation of US citizens ($70-trillion annual profit from govt CAFR funds can already replace ALL taxes)

ZERO police on public highways (2nd Amendment and ambulance crews replace cops)

If you don’t wear safety gear, I don’t care if you die, that’s your right to make a mistake. That’s the price of FREEDOM.

But cops currently arrest sportbikers who do wear safety gear, as probable cause for traffic crimes (never mind that each cop perps 100s of traffic crimes every day, plus many felonies).

Cops currently censor the word countersteering on all MC license tests, which kill 90% of riders killed, says USDOT Hurt Report. Schools, police and news corps should be required to teach this fact of physics every day to the public, beginning in kindergarten.

The current Zero Tolerance Prohibition of alcohol in USA has a so-called “legal limit” of ZERO POINT ZERO ZERO, since a driver is already under arrest for DUI before a BAC test is given. Charges can never be dropped against innocent people due to risk of lawsuit for false arrest. By censoring this fact, the Police State can arrest and convict any driver for DUI at any time, without any consumption of alcohol.

99% of alcohol rehab/detox programs actually INCREASE alcoholism, addiction, OD, suicide and homicide, due to rampant medical mlapractice. Nutritional rehab/detox programs have a 90% cure rate, but are never used by the Police State Prison Industrial Court Complex.

10 years in prison will cost all taxslaves $750,000 in this DUI homicide case.

10 years in prison means the perp can never pay financial restitutuion to the victims.

SO PRISON HURTS MOST CRIME VICTIMS. But prison slave plantations are very profitable for the Police State, manufacturing products at 10-cents on the dollar to put US citizens and factories out of work.

What in the hell does this have to do with motorcycling or this post?

It has everything to do with both.

When someone else loses their rights, everyone loses their rights.

10 years prison injures the victim’s family in this case, due to the dead person’s loss of income and no restitution. Instead the govt will steal all the money, when it is not injured. Cops can get paid more than $200,000 per year in overtime, just testifying in traffic court (forcing cities to file bankruptcy to renegotiate police union contracts).

10 years in prison for an accident, when proof of DUI homicide is 0.00% BAC, is dangerous for everyone. In North Carolina, prosecutors seek the death penalty.

A Police State is not the answer. In fact, govt now admits that redlights cause crashes, and cities are now removing all redlights, stop signs and speed limits, since that forces drivers to be more responsible and pay more attention. Roundabouts (traffic circles) are much safer that stop signs or redlights, and don’t cost $100,000 per intersection like redlights. The victim’s family in this case may be able to sue the municipal corporation for an illegal redlight, especially if the timing was illegally shortened, which cities love doing to sue more traffic tickets.

One definition of insnaity is doing the same thing over and over, while expecting a different result. One thing great about bikers is they think outside the box and believe in freedom, which is a very scary concept. Sometimes too scary.
